Chief Operating Officer Enterprise SaaS Platform Company based in Munich, Germany

Exceptional COO opportunity for an established enterprise SaaS platform company based in Munich. The company is very well funded (VC) and currently employs 60 FTE with ambitious growth plans and offices across Europe and the USA. This leading and award-winning software platform partners with global brands in the FMCG, Media, Automotive and Insurance space is headquartered in Munich where this COO role is to be based, working closely with the founder and CEO.

The brief:

You will be responsible for the efficiency of the business and part of the core management team, reporting to the board. You will maintain control of diverse business operations including product development, delivery, operations and support so we expect you to be an experienced and efficient leader within these areas.

Experience designing processes from an operational perspective, including product and engineering would be a distinct advantage.

COO Responsibilities include:

>      Oversee the design and implementation of the product technology strategy

architecture and the selection of technologies

>      Create efficient processes for and operate the business delivery management (customer onboarding, customer support).

>      Implement end-to-end processes for our efficient and highly scalable SaaS business.

>      Establish and manage HR processes across our locations in Germany, India, UK and USA.

>      Manage the Business Operations including Controlling & Reporting (Processes, & KPIs), Prioritization of organizational requirements, Capacity & Capability Management & Scheduling, alignment of company goals with individual goals incl. skill-enhancements plans.

>      Evaluate performance by analysing and interpreting data and metrics.

>      Participate in expansion activities (investments, acquisitions, alliances etc).     

>      Manage relationships with partners/customers.

>      Establish technology partnerships.

Requirements

>      Minimum three year’s career experience as a proven hands-on COO in an Enterprise SaaS company.

>      In depth understanding of core business functions: Technical Product Management, Product Development, Onboarding, Delivery, Technical Operations, Controlling, Human Resources.

>      Experience in managing budgets and business-planning.

>      Exceptional communication skills, specifically at Board level and with customers.

>      Fluent in German and English language.

It would also mean that you should develop and share a qualified point of view, especially in regards to the technology that often sits at the core of the start-up.

You are an innovative and energetic professional, with a university degree that demonstrates technical capabilities as well as the ability to make sound and responsible judgements. You are on your track towards an engineering, software engineering or data science career, with a few years work experience, and are interested in cutting-edge technology and digital products.

You can code, have experience in building stuff yourself and like to think about innovative ideas, trying to always stay ahead of what’s new in the early-stage venture world.

Responsibilities

●      Understanding and evaluating the technologies that often are at the core of early-stage companies we are looking at, in fields such as AI/ML, Deeptech, Blockchain, Robotics, Autonomous Driving, Data Science/Engineering, etc.

●      Appreciation and evaluation of early-stage ventures, their products and potential for growth and success in general

●      Quantitative/qualitative market research and analysis of different industry sectors, including market sizes, competitive factors, market dynamics and technologies at play

●      Preparing information material that helps guide our investment decisions

●      Connecting and discussing with early-stage founders as well as our network of Fellows to support portfolio companies to grow
