The opportunity

The CFO will be a key member of the management team, reporting to the Board and we are looking for an experienced Financial Director / CFO to support the business’ rapid expansion, working closely with the CEO.

As CFO you will play a pivotal role in shaping strategy and direction as one of the leaders of the business. You will be responsible for a whole range of activities from owning and developing the business plan, forecasts and budget to establishing and managing business processes and controls.

On a daily basis you are responsible to:

  • Manage all finance operations: accounting, payroll, supply chain, legal, tax, and treasury in close cooperation with the CEO and CTO.
  • Manage third parties to which finance functions have been outsourced.
  • Monitor cashflow and cash forecasts; manage relationships with banks and service providers.
  • Support commercial teams with financial insights, models, and business calculations to support commercial activities.

Essential career experience:

  • 5-10+ years of experience in senior finance based roles.
  • Experience with IoT, hardware and SaaS business models.
  • Experience of leading at least one fundraise or exit for a start-up/scale-up.
  • Keen interest in the future of the energy sector and Net Zero.

The opportunity:

Remote based, as Partner Sales Manager within their Cyber Security and OEM Channel Markets, the role is to be both a key part and of their Sales and Business Development Team and also their Channel ‘GTM’ strategy to ensure they deliver to customers and internal stakeholders.

As an experienced Channel Sales Manager, you will be responsible for the development and delivery of their OEM Channel Sales strategy into customers and prospects, working within the sales and marketing team and in conjunction with operations, product and engineering teams within the company. From a business development, sales and account management perspective instigate, drive and manage customer interactions throughout the sales cycle.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop, support and execute on the existing Channel ‘GTM’ strategy.
  • Open new markets and customer prospects for their products and services.
  • Present and develop the Channel & OEM value proposition.
  • Where appropriate account manage and develop Channel Partnerships.
  • Develop and execute segmented sector sales plans, identifying key prospects, key decision makers and influencers.
  • Develop and maintain effective contact strategies with clients and prospects.
  • Liaise with relevant departments / stakeholders / SME’s to develop RFP responses and commercial proposals.
  • Map and understand the competitive landscape both quantum and non-quantum pertinent to business activities.
  • Represent the company at key industry and corporate events to develop the brand profile and sales pipeline.
  • Communicate the progress of customer sales interaction to both internal and external stakeholders where applicable.
  • Collaborate with other teams throughout the company to achieve sustainable growth in line with business objectives.

Required career experience:

  • A minimum 8 years + work experience ideally within the cybersecurity or a similar related market within an OEM, partner, channel sales, account management or business development customer facing role.
  • Proven consultative selling skills to large Partner, Channel and OEM organisations within the IT & high-tech markets.
  • A solid network of contacts within the Partner, Channel and OEM organisations within the IT & high-tech markets.
  • Experience in handling and managing technology RFI and tender processes.
  • Experience of setting market and commercial pricing strategies for OEM Partners.

The Finance Principal will report to the CFO in a diverse role that will empower you across all areas of their financial operations. You’ll inform key decisions, own critical relationships with their major stakeholders and work alongside the fund’s General Partners. The role progression road map will lead to Head of Finance within 12 months.

Key responsibilities:

Funds and Portfolio Management

● Fully own the fund administration process: draw down funds, return capital, produce quarterly reports and be on point with ad-hoc queries and tasks.

● Design, iterate and maintain key reporting models, including capital deployment, reserves, portfolio company valuations and fund outcome projections.

● Lead on the production of materials for fundraising, investor meetings and our AGM.

● Design a repeatable process to collect and analyse data from their portfolio and create actionable insights from it.

● Create analysis for quarterly portfolio reviews and regular offsites to improve the decision-making processes.

● Support the investment process, including cap table creation and management as well as modelling new rounds and exits.

● Provide support on all fund and portfolio legal matters.

● Own and leverage key reporting systems.

Management company

● Manage the relationship with their outsourced accountants ensuring timely preparation of quarterly accounts and the processing of invoices and payments.

Compliance

● Work with their compliance consultant to ensure that the organisation is fully compliant with FCA rules and regulations.

● Assist with tax compliance across all firm and fund entities, including VAT.

● Support their fund auditors to produce annual accounts for their funds and associated entities.

Ideal career experience:

● 2 years’ experience in-house within venture capital or private equity is essential.

● ACA or CFA qualified.

● Be accurate and organised, able to prioritise and work autonomously.

● Take ownership of projects and drive them forward.

● Challenge existing processes and seek solutions to improve them.
