Exceptional opportunity for a Venture Partner to be based in Norway with an established and leading European Venture Capital investor in digital technology companies that impact the future energy system. Their recently raised fourth fund provides early growth capital to ventures that shape the energy system transition through smart software and services-based business models.

The new Venture Partner is a part-time opportunity (1-2 or 3 days per week) and offers the flexibility to pursue other business interests in parallel. You will work closely with the existing Partners and the team to increase their presence and reach across the NORDICS and have an opportunity to contribute to tackling the global climate problem through innovation and technology.

Ideal Profile

You are recognized as an accomplished professional with a well-developed network into early and growth-stage venture opportunities in the energy transition field. You have venture transaction experience either as an investment professional or start-up founder and understand what it takes to build key relationships with start-up companies and develop them into leaders in their field. Working with the next generation of entrepreneurs gives you energy and inspiration. You want to be affiliated with a strong brand and team while retaining the flexibility to pursue other business interests or next steps in your career in parallel.

The role:

Scout for and develop new investment opportunities for the fund across the NORDICS market related to digital technologies for a carbon-free energy system.

Contribute to the execution of potential investments through all stages of the process, including initial screening, assessing companies, markets and technologies, and deal execution.

Work with the fund and team to add value in critical areas of leadership, strategy, business development and governance in NORDICS based companies.

Support the fund and local portfolio companies in fund raising, follow-on investments and exit trajectories.

Share sector insights and expertise in the field of the European energy transition and establish thought leadership on behalf of the fund.

Link stakeholders including sector experts, consultants, policymakers, co-investors, advisors and thought leaders to the fund.

Build the fund’s brand and network with key stakeholders such as VC firms, thought leaders, corporate executives and advisors.

Director of Customer Success- Utility & Energy SaaS company – Spain (Remote)

Exceptional career opportunity for an experienced Customer Success professional to join a global cloud-based meter data management cloud solutions company in the Utility and Energy sector. We are searching for a Customer Service Director who wants to work in a dynamic environment with varied tasks and responsibilities, which includes leading complex projects with many different stakeholders, from the people in the project up to the executive level. For the first eighteen months this will be a standalone role with the opportunity to then build a team. The Customer Success Director will have a technical background, an understanding of mission critical Enterprise SaaS solutions and ideally have experience of working with grid or with energy retailers in Spain and Portugal. Ideally the customer success director is based in Portugal or Spain, close to our key customers.

Key Responsibilities:

● Develop trusted relationships with decision markers with each assigned customer and work as the lead point of contact. Understand each customer’s strategic goals to make tactical recommendations based on the business service offering.

● Gather valuable feedback for continual product improvements.

● Maintain expertise on industry trends/practices and competitive landscape.

● Play a critical communications role by regularly interacting with customers.

● Lead cross-functionality to drive customer success and work with internal teams to balance, meet and exceed customer perceptions and expectations on all levels.

● Partner with the internal sales team to develop a plan for customer success and expansion for each customer to achieve growth goals. Identify up-sell service extensions sales opportunities and communicate any potential risks that would threaten renewal.

Ideal career experience:

● 5-8+ years’ proven career experience in Customer Success for an Enterprise SaaS company.

● Strong understanding of the business processes of grid and energy retailers.

● An analytically minded professional with excellent planning & communication skills who acts as a trusted adviser and partner to our large account customers while maximising the business’s value proposition

● Excellent interpersonal communication skills. A good listener and advisor who can bring people together.

● Self-motivated, has a hands-on mentality and eager to exceed expectations.

● English written and verbal language and either Spanish or Portuguese written and verbal language.

● Solid educational background.

• You have either been in leadership positions, including either a CEO role or a leadership position in a software business targeting a technical audience, and have seen a company go from low millions to tens of millions of revenue. You will have been instrumental in that journey.

• Or, you have been a CPO, having been a strong software engineer, and having succeeded in product management roles, earlier in your career.

• Proficient at customer interaction, both in terms of understanding their problems and needs, building relationships with them, and selling to them.

• Familiar and possibly an expert in designing a sales and marketing organisation that can sell to large businesses.

• An intelligent pragmatist. You have a bias to action; once you have conviction in a course of action others find themselves getting things done they might not otherwise have.

The opportunity

The Sales Director will further support growth, report to the CEO and develop an effective international sales organization, levering direct sales as well as partnerships and strengthen the company as a leader in the industry with targeted marketing.

Your responsibilities:

  • Hire, train & lead an international sales team. Build a Sales function.
  • Set sales targets and compensation scheme and support the team in achieving them.
  • Implement and validate marketing measures.
  • Review and continuously develop pricing strategy, offerings and legal sales framework.
  • Negotiate customer and partnering agreements.
  • Continuously develop and implement effective sales controlling.
  • Develop and maintain the CRM platform, HubSpot.
