The CEO will work closely with the management team, to lead the company, execute and refine and implement the scaling strategy. The focus of the CEO will be the commercialization of the company; refining and executing the business models and strengthening the sales of equipment and consumables.

CEO profile

We are looking for a strong leader with a clear, rational, strategic and commercial mindset who can set and execute a well thought through and broadly supported strategy. Sets and keeps strong focus, with the willingness and ability to adjust when needed. Effective, experienced, and comfortable at all organizational levels, and with various stakeholder groups, including investors, supervisory board and strategic partners. Preferably experienced in a start-/scale up environment, with knowledge of or exposure to large corporates.

The ideal candidate brings the following skills and expertise:

– Proven ability and success leading a High-Tech scale-up as a CEO to the next phase. Demonstrated experience in overseeing and growing complex organizations and broadening the scope to include commercial/operational/supply chain focus while maintaining/strengthening the company culture of innovation and fast learning – up to and including exit.

– Strong business experience with proven ability and success in the commercializing of the High-Tech scale-up company, by designing and executing a value-creation based strategy in close collaboration with the team and relevant stakeholders.

– Hands-on experience of scaling, developing, and managing a growing scaleup-team to support and drive business strategy, including development of additional leadership Further build on and grow a company culture based on purpose and values.

Working closely and reporting to the CFO as an integral member of the finance team, you will manage a small and growing team and be directly responsible for:

  • Billing, Accounts Receivables, Accounts Payables.
  • Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting (stock valuation), Revenue Recognition.
  • Bank payments, transfers between accounts, and quality control related to financial transactions and reporting.
  • Quarterly stock counts.

You will lead financial processes for month-end and year-end close (including annual audits); coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting; and manage and comply with government reporting requirements and tax filings.

You know how to leverage continuous learning & improvement to maximize your role, your team, and the business. Love to design and implement solutions that overcome challenges and create positive change in the organization.

Externally, you collaborate with 3rd party finance service providers across Europe and the USA. Consolidate quarterly financials by working with both the holding company and sister company.

Ideal career experience:

  • 5+ years of experience as a Financial Controller or similar role, with a degree in Accounting or similar.
  • Able to work in their Amsterdam office for 2-3 days per week.
  • Good knowledge of accounting principles and procedures (Dutch GAP, IFRS).
  • Experience with creating financial statements and general ledgers.
  • Good understanding of accounting software; strong knowledge of Excel or Google Sheets.
  • Ability to develop the current team to its full potential and hire the best.
  • Collaborative leader and team player; able to work cohesively and seamlessly with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong time-management, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Attention to detail while keeping the bigger picture in mind.

Managing a small and growing team, your responsibilities will be to:

  • Develop a multi-channel marketing calendar to increase brand awareness. We aim to be the top Premium eBike brand in The Netherlands and Germany and continue establishing our position as a market-leading Urban eBike Brand in the USA.
  • Develop a brand strategy per region.
  • Develop and execute the multi-channel marketing calendar for the European and USA markets.

Managing a growing team, your responsibilities will be to:

  • Define, develop and execute D2C strategies to enhance online sales and brand engagement.
  • Own the end-to-end experience of our D2C channel, ensuring seamless customer experiences.
  • Unleash the power and potential of the brand stores and smoothly connect the online and offline channels and activities.
  • Forecast and measure the channel performance and adjust priorities where necessary.
  • Partner closely with the Brand and Marketing team, the regional business units and business developers, and the finance team to deliver against your vision of the customer experience and business goals.
  • Build, manage and mentor a team, including in-house performance management, data analysis and operation resources to execute an eCommerce-driven sales organization.
  • Establish and manage the right processes for your team and cross-functional partners to execute and optimize flawlessly and efficiently.

Ideal career experience:

  • Proven track record in D2C – of managing and exceeding eCommerce revenue targets, P&L management and budget planning.
  • Experience in leading an eCommerce team.
  • Strong knowledge of eCommerce KPIs, user experience (UX), online sales techniques and experience with data and analysis to, bring a data-driven approach to decision-making and prioritization of resources.
  • Experienced in operating both strategically and tactically in a high-energy, fast-paced and agile environment in the DTC field.
  • Experience in a start-up / scale-up company is preferred.
  • Experience working in a Shopify eCommerce environment and Google Analytics.
  • Team-orientated with the ability to interact with partners across the organization at all levels; ability to negotiate and influence peers and members of a cross-functional team.
  • Dynamic and creative leadership skills with excellent business acumen, interpersonal communication skills, with a can-do attitude.
