Head Of Accounting – Investment Management Fund, Germany (remote)

About the Job:

Investment management fund which invests in well-known technology companies and funds in Europe and the USA are searching for a Head of Finance & Accounting. The position can be based in their Berlin or Hamburg offices. Alternatively, the position can be based remotely, managing a team of three finance professionals.

Responsibilities include:

– Creation of fund models, distribution and sensitivity calculations for Exit / IPO, as well as operational KPI analysis.

– Management of liquidity planning and control and preparation of capital calls and distributions.

– Coordination and support of fund investment and liquidation processes.

– Monitoring of fund compliance and regulatory provisions (especially know-your-customer).

– Preparation of annual financial statements according to IFRS and German accounting with our tax consultants.

– Preparation, creation and evaluation of shareholder resolutions and audits as part of the Year-end work.

– Responsibility for the analysis, recording and monitoring of the maintenance of transaction and fund data.

– Development and expansion of the accounting area as well as clarification and implementation of legal requirements and changes in regulations.

– Close cooperation with tax firms, fund administrations (in Hamburg / Berlin) and Law firms and accountants.

Senior Product Manager – OT Cybersecurity – Remote (Belgium, Germany, Switzerland)

Overview:

  • Innovative solutions for industrial monitoring, enabling companies to guarantee cybersecurity and the availability of their OR and IoT infrastructures.
  • Operational Technical (OS) Cybersecurity products (must have OS experience)
  • Remote role focussed on German/EMEA market. Could be based in Germany, Belgium, Switzerland
  • Professional German language preferred but not essential.

Company Overview:

High growth business that develops innovative industrial monitoring solutions for energy suppliers, industrial companies and critical infrastructures. The company enables in clients to maintain both cybersecurity and availability of both OT and IoT infrastructure and securing industrial networks and smart infrastructures.

The role:

You will head up product management and be responsible for the product(s) strategic and operational end to end development (and positioning) for the OT cybersecurity products within the energy sector.

You will drive the development of new products and services to further support the company’s growth in Germany and Europe. This will include review and improvement of customer orientation, pricing and value proposition.

Your background:

  • Experience in OT Cybersecurity
  • Educated to degree level, ideally in computer science, electrical engineering etc
  • Multiple years experience in a high-tech environment, as either a product manager, product owner of requirements engineering
  • Competence in leadership, management and planning
  • Agile working experience
  • Highly analytical, creative problem solver
  • Professional German language skills preferred

We have been retained by a well-funded (€10 Million) disruptive tech start-up company based in Stuttgart. The company which was established in 2017 has developed an industry-leading technology platform for enterprise in the Smart Energy space with a current team of 12 based in central Stuttgart. After a lot of early success and investment the company is scaling and require a CFO to join as the third and final member of management team, reporting to the board.

Key Responsibilities: As the CFO, you will build a lean financial organization to support this fast-growing business and you will shape operations around the newly established supply chain. Driving the companies’ long-term vision and preparing for further fast-paced growth.

• Make optimal strategic and operational decisions by providing sound financial analysis and a toolset for strategic planning.

• Establish minimal but effective processes to cover routine administrative tasks.

• Own the operational and financial aspects of their supply chain from demand planning to procurement and logistics.

• Oversee the legal framework between the company, suppliers and customers.

• Select, implement and maintain a company-wide financial ERP system, which integrates smoothly with their SaaS landscape.

• Maximize available cash for strategic activities by carefully managing liquidity and reducing working capital requirements through factoring and inventory management.

• Coordinate the preparation for external audits and filing of tax returns.

• Manage risk and compliance.

• Ensure timely and accurate reporting to our investors.

Venture Partner (Germany)

Exceptional opportunity for a Venture Partner to be based in Germany with an established and leading European Venture Capital investor in digital technology companies that impact the future energy system. Their recently raised third fund provides early growth capital to ventures that shape the energy system transition through smart software and services-based business models.

The new Venture Partner which is a part-time (2-3 days per week) opportunity will work closely with the existing Partners and the team to increase their presence and reach in the German speaking region. You will work with this leading European venture fund investing in the forerunners of the energy system transition and have an opportunity to contribute to tackling the global climate problem through innovation and technology.

Ideal profile:

You are recognized as a professional with a well-developed network into interesting venture opportunities in the energy transition field. You have experience making investments in early and growth stage companies and understand what it takes to develop them into leaders in their field. Working with the next generation of entrepreneurs gives you energy and inspiration. You want to be affiliated with a strong brand and team while retaining the flexibility to pursue other business interests in parallel.

The role:

  • Scouting and developing new investment opportunities for the fund in the German market related to energy system transition technology.
  • Contribute to the execution of potential investments through all stages of the process, including initial screening, assessing companies, markets and technologies, and deal execution.
  • Work with the Fund team to add value in critical areas of leadership, strategy, business development and fund raising for our German portfolio companies.
  • Share sector insights and expertise in the field of the European energy transition.
  • Build our brand and relationships with key stakeholders such as VC firms, thought leaders, corporate executives and advisors.

Requirements:

  • Significant entrepreneurial experience as a founder or senior executive in a growth stage technology company; exposure to raising and investing venture capital appreciated.
  • Forward looking, demonstrated willingness to take personal risk, visible: recognized as a leader in the energy/tech sector.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills, with an ability to work well within a team, effectively interact with stakeholders with diverse backgrounds as well as with a variety of people in the field.
  • 15+ years of overall experience, including at least 5 years of (corporate) venture capital and/or entrepreneurial experience.
  • Analytical mindset with excellent communication and presentation skills in English and German.
